Reiki Healing for Animals

Tuesday, 09 August 2016, 09:00 - 17:00

We are offering you and your animals a unique opportunity here at Raystede to experience Reiki Healing by Proffessional Healer and Animal Communicator Jude Dickinson.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through the animal or person. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK since the late 1900s, but Eastern medicine has for thousands of years worked with this energy, recognising its flow through all living things. Reiki supports orthodox medicine or can be used alone but is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatments.

The Reiki session will last an hour and Jude will firstly ask the permission of the animal to see if they will accept or refuse the treatment. Whatever happens Jude will respect their decision. Rescued animals in particular, need to heal at their own pace to help rebuild their trust in humans again which may have been lost through abuse, neglect or abandonment in the past.

The positive signs of accepting a Reiki Session from an animal will be:
• Yawning.
• Licking.
• Dozing or Sleeping.
• Drinking or eating afterwards.
• Turning or offering their body or a body part to heal.
• Walking away and then coming back for more.
• Animals nearby are asleep or dozing too within the session.

It is important not to hold any expectations whilst the treatment is taking place. Every animal is different just like humans.

What can you expect at the clinic?

On arrival you'll be asked a few questions about your pet and then will be requested to fill in a confidential registration form. New pet clients should arrive ten minutes early for the first appointment so that this can be done.
There will be an opportunity for a short discussion of their situation at the beginning of their session. The whole session will last approximately an hour each.

At the end of your session, there will be a few minutes to discuss the pets experience and decide whether further healing would be appropriate. *Please note*: Any small animals, reptiles or cats must be carried in a contained and secure carrier whilst entering into the healing clinic for their own safety. The Veterinary Surgery Act of 1966 prohibits anyone, other than a qualified veterinary surgeon from treating animals, including diagnosis of ailments and giving advice on such diagnosis. However the healing of animals by contact healing, by the laying of hands or distant healing is legal. The Protection of Animals Act 1911 requires that if an animal clearly needs treatment from a veterinary surgeon the owner must obtain this first.

By signing up for an animal reiki treatment you will be helping Raystede continue it's vital work as Jude will donate a percentage of the booking fee to Raystede. You can sign up for £30 by following the below link and Jude will be healing the rescue animals as Raystede for free!

If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to contact us on 01825 840747 or Jude either by email: pet2connect@gmail.com or on 07783070766. If you wish to know more about what Jude does then please visit her website www.animalhealer@wordpress.com.
